Project Engineer (Structural Building)

Horner & Shifrin is seeking a full-time Building Project Engineer in our Structural Business Unit. This position requires 5 years of experience.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

• Follow Building Practice production and design standards and procedures as delegated by the Project Manager
• Perform and check structural engineering calculations using company client and industry standards
• Participate in the preparation and checking of structural construction drawings created by teammates to meet firm and client requirements.
• Develop and check cost estimates
• Participate in the preparation of reports and studies
• Assist in the management of projects
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines within the firm to assure successful completion of projects

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois Missouri or Arkansas
• Licensed Structural Engineer in Illinois (preferred)
• Experience with structural design and detailing of water or wastewater plant structures or similar structures (firm requirement)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in AutoCAD Revit or Microstation
• Knowledge of Structural Design Software
• Ability to traverse structural sites including heights and rough terrain
• Must possess a valid drivers license
• Must complete a background check

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
Master of Science in Civil Engineering (preferred)
