Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect surfaces in accordance with District health and safety guidelines.

• Empty trash and recycling receptacles and properly dispose of waste.

• Replenish restroom and cleaning supplies as assigned.

• Set up, move, or arrange furniture and equipment for school activities, events, or meetings as directed.

• Assist with minor building maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, reporting facility issues, and addressing basic repairs within assigned scope.

• Safely operate custodial equipment and use cleaning chemicals according to training and manufacturer guidelines.

• Secure building areas as assigned, including locking doors and ensuring facilities are left in proper condition.

• Maintain professional and cooperative working relationships with staff, students, and the public.

• Perform other related duties as assigned by the head custodian, principal, or administration.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma, adult high school diploma, or G.E.D.

• Ability to perform physical tasks associated with custodial work, including lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety procedures.

• Dependable attendance and punctuality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior custodial, janitorial, or facilities maintenance experience, preferably in a school or public building.

• Knowledge of proper use of custodial equipment, tools, and cleaning products.

• Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks efficiently.

• Positive attitude and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe school environment.

Job Description

Millard School District is accepting applications for a part-time custodian at Fillmore Middle School. This is a year-round position scheduled for 5.75 hours per day. The custodian will help maintain a clean, safe, sanitary, and functional school environment by performing assigned cleaning, custodial, minor maintenance, and building-support duties.

• Compensation will follow the Millard School District Classified Salary Schedule or approved hourly rate for the position.

• Scheduled hours and work calendar are assigned according to the position and District need.

Benefits Eligibility

• This is a part-time, limited-hours position and does not qualify for District health insurance benefits.

• Paid leave, holidays, retirement, or other benefits are provided only if applicable based on employment classification, assigned schedule, District policy, and applicable law.
