Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2 years of experience, C-section circulator skills, and a CO or compact RN license.

Details

• 10-bed unit with 5 Labor & Delivery rooms and 5 Postpartum rooms
• Facility performs fewer than 100 births per month
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
• Various days of the week with weekend coverage required (minimum 5 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope to similar units as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (CO or compact) required
• Current certifications: NRP, ACLS, BLS, and AWHONN Intermediate (must be in hand or proof of enrollment provided)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Circulator experience for C-section required
• Rural healthcare experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Clinical leadership experience and willingness to mentor RNs preferred
• Experience with high-risk delivery, vaginal delivery, and postpartum care required
• Skilled in fetal monitoring including EFM, IUPC placement, and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experience with labor induction/augmentation medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Terbutaline
• Experience in newborn care including APGAR scoring and newborn assessment

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum/mother-baby units
• Circulate for cesarean sections and assist with high-risk and vaginal deliveries
• Support newborn care immediately after delivery, including APGAR scoring, cord care, and ID banding
• Provide postpartum care including fundus/lochia/perineum assessment and breastfeeding support
• Assist with antepartum procedures such as NSTs, sterile speculum exams, and obstetrical triage
• Complete all facility-specific training modules within the first week of assignment
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility may be eligible for a local rate
• Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods during high-census times
• No blocked scheduling requests permitted
• Candidates with prior UCHealth employment history must disclose this for eligibility review
