Press Maintenance Mechanic Location: De Soto, KS

Schedule: 12-Hour Rotating Night Shift (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)

Target Pay: $33.00 / hour

What You'll Do (Essential Duties) Keep production moving forward by ensuring high-speed manufacturing lines run at peak performance:

• Troubleshoot & Repair: Diagnose complex mechanical/electrical issues on printing presses and die-cutting lines.
• Control Systems: Maintain older relay logic, PLCs, and advanced drive systems.
• Vendor Collaboration: Communicate technical issues with external vendors to solve complex problems.
• Proactive PMs: Maintain detailed preventative maintenance and repair records.
• Inventory: Order replacement parts and coordinate vendor service schedules.
• Note: Requires rotating "On Call" availability for press coverage.

What You'll Bring (Skills & Experience)

• Experience: 3 to 10 years of manufacturing preventative maintenance experience.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Electrical Skills: strong background; ability to read electrical/mechanical schematics.
• Machinery Knowledge: Direct experience with Man Roland or Heidelberg presses and Bobst die cutters.
• Drives & Automation: Experience with Siemens/Allen Bradley Drives, open architecture controls, and networking.
• Auxiliary Systems: Familiarity with Technotrans, Flow Clear, and IR drying systems.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do (Essential Duties)

As our Press Maintenance Mechanic, you will keep our mission moving forward by ensuring our advanced production lines run at peak performance. Your day-to-day will involve:

• Advanced Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical and electrical issues on printing presses and die-cutting equipment.
• Systems Maintenance: Repairing and maintaining older relay logic, programmable logic controls (PLCs), and advanced drive systems.
• Vendor Collaboration: Verbally communicating technical issues directly with external vendors to swiftly troubleshoot equipment.
• Proactive Care: Organizing and maintaining detailed preventative maintenance and repair records to maximize uptime.
• Inventory & Coordination: Ordering necessary replacement parts and scheduling specialized vendor maintenance activities.

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment
• wearing steel toe shoes
• manual lifting up to 50lbs
• standing for 6 hours at one time
• working up to 5 hrs of overtime per week
