Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact license Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) - Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) - Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) - Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Must-Have: - ICU/critical care patient assessment and monitoring skills - Ventilator management and troubleshooting - Cardiac rhythm monitoring and interpretation - Administration of vasoactive, sedative, and critical care medications - Ability to manage invasive lines (Swan-Ganz, arterial, CVP) Description: The emergency department has 36 beds and a staff of 40. Patient ratios are 4 patients per 1 nurse. The department is a full-service emergency department with trauma level 4, primary PCI, and certification as a primary stroke center. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech Magic/Expanse. Candidates with experience in post-operative and organ donor patient care are preferred. Strong patient and family education and communication skills are valued. Participation in multidisciplinary care coordination is desirable. Familiarity with ICU protocols, including AIDET, bedside shift report, and safety rounding, is an advantage. Typical procedures performed include mechanical ventilation management and weaning. Candidates will also engage in hemodynamic monitoring and administration of critical care infusions. Candidates should be calm and effective in high-stress, fast-paced environments. Strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential. Adherence to code of conduct and compliance with documentation standards is expected. The use of evidence-based practices and patient-centered care will be emphasized. Rotating weekends will be part of the schedule, with no on-call shifts required.
