Landscape Designer

Jack's Lawn Maintenance is seeking a creative and motivated Landscape Designer / Design Consultant to help lead the next phase of our company's growth. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about residential landscape design, enjoys working directly with clients, and wants the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a rapidly growing company. The right candidate will help guide clients from initial consultation through design, proposal development, project sales, and installation. Unlike a traditional corporate design role, this position offers significant autonomy, leadership opportunities, and a clear path toward managing a design department and helping shape one of the region's premier landscape brands. Qualifications Degree in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, Horticulture, or a related field preferred Strong understanding of residential landscape design principles Knowledge of plant materials, planting design, and regional horticulture appropriate to USDA Zones 7A–7B Strong presentation, communication, and client relationship skills Ability to create professional design proposals and confidently present concepts to clients Understanding of landscape construction methods, materials, and installation practices Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Land F/X, SketchUp, Lumion, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms Self‑motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to grow professionally and take ownership of projects Portfolio of design work preferred but not required for exceptional entry‑level candidates Competitive base salary based on experience Commission and performance‑based bonuses on project sales Paid time off and company holidays Flexible scheduling and the ability to manage your own calendar Opportunity to build and lead a design department as the company grows Direct access to company leadership and involvement in major business decisions Significant career advancement opportunities with a rapidly expanding company Ability to help shape the future direction, systems, and culture of the organization Work on a wide variety of residential landscape, outdoor living, planting, and design‑build projects Responsibilities Lead initial client consultations and site visits Build trust‑based relationships with homeowners throughout the design process Translate client goals, lifestyle needs, and property conditions into compelling landscape concepts Present designs, renderings, and proposals with confidence and professionalism Guide clients through budgeting, revisions, and project approvals Support company sales objectives through effective design and project development Landscape Design Develop creative landscape concepts, planting plans, and master plans Design outdoor living spaces, patios, walkways, lighting systems, drainage solutions, and planting installations Produce presentation‑quality drawings, renderings, and visual materials Create project specifications and scope documentation Stay current with design trends, plant materials, and construction techniques Coordinate with field crews and project managers throughout project execution Conduct site walkthroughs and installation reviewsServe as the primary design contact during project implementation Assist in resolving field challenges while maintaining design intent Ensure projects are delivered at a high level of quality and client satisfaction Lead and mentor installation crews on design intent and project execution Help develop company design standards, systems, and processes Contribute ideas that improve efficiency, quality, and client experience Play an active role in the growth and long‑term vision of the company Help establish Jack's Lawn Maintenance as one of South Jersey's leading residential landscape design‑build firms #J-18808-Ljbffr
