Desktop Support Specialist

Scion Technology has been engaged to conduct a search for an experienced Desktop Support Specialist for our client, a fully accredited laboratory specializing in a range of health‑related testing services. This is a contract position based onsite in Portland, OR. Position Overview We are seeking a reliable Desktop Support Specialist to provide day‑to‑day technical assistance in a general office environment. This role is responsible for maintaining computer systems, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring employees have the tools they need to work efficiently. Perks Be the go‑to IT resource supporting all levels of the business, including leadership Take full ownership of issues while building experience across M365, Intune, Azure AD, and endpoint security Work across desktop, mobile, security, and networking in a dynamic, real‑world environment Responsibilities Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and other office equipment Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and updates Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner Assist users with login issues, password resets, and system access Set up and deploy new workstations and user accounts Maintain documentation of support activities and system configurations Collaborate with IT team members to resolve more complex technical problems Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience Strong understanding of Windows and/or macOS environments Familiarity with common office software and tools Basic knowledge of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and provide support in a fast‑paced office setting Compensation & Benefits This contract position offers an hourly rate of $20‑25/HR, commensurate with experience.
