Electronics Engineer Location: Bethesda, MD Type: Full Time Min. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The successful applicant will join ATR's Engineering Services Division, working as an electronics engineer at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock, MD. The applicant will work as part of a design, test, and evaluation team and also on data acquisition, software development, computer networks, and underwater electronic system designs. Develop project plans and test plans and conduct land/ocean‑based field tests/demonstrations of advanced sensor systems. Write test reports and brief designs, test plans, and test reports to upper management and sponsors. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Minimum Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering 5+ years of electronics hardware development experience Job experience with the Navy or other DoD laboratories is a plus SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS Experience in analog & digital circuit design Experience with software tools such as Python, LabVIEW, C/C++, or MATLAB Understanding of analog controls and signal conditioning amplifier design Understanding of circuit noise analysis and noise mitigation techniques Experience simulating amplifier circuits using SPICE or similar tools Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium, Cadence) Knowledge of best practices with regards to hardware development, layout and circuit design Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, time‑domain reflectometers, DVM, function generators, etc. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing Travel to other Navy sites may be required (occasionally) OTHER REQUIREMENTS Candidate must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance or favorable adjudication of a national‑security background investigation.
