Why This Job - Project Manager

Our client is looking to add an experienced Project Manager to support its growing portfolio of ultra-custom residential projects throughout Big Sky and the greater Gallatin Valley. This is an expansion hire driven by continued growth and several large projects currently in the pipeline.

This role is much more involved than a traditional Project Manager position. You'll oversee budgets, estimating, scheduling, forecasting, owner communication, and overall project execution from preconstruction through completion while partnering closely with Superintendents, Project Engineers, architects, designers, and owners' representatives. These projects require constant collaboration and problem solving as designs continue evolving throughout construction rather than simply following completed construction documents.

What You'll Actually Do:

• Lead ultra-custom residential projects from preconstruction through final completion, owning budgets, estimating, scheduling, forecasting, and overall project performance.
• Develop and maintain project budgets while proactively tracking cost-to-complete forecasts and communicating financial updates.
• Partner with Superintendents and Project Engineers to coordinate project execution, scheduling, and weekly planning.
• Collaborate with Project Engineers to support and review estimating efforts
• Lead owner, architect, consultant, and contractor meetings while serving as the primary communication point throughout construction.
• Review plans for constructability, value engineering opportunities, and budget alignment before construction begins.
• Manage subcontractor coordination, contract execution, change orders, and schedule impacts throughout each project.
• Conduct quarterly project reviews with leadership covering budget performance, project health, scheduling, lessons learned, and recovery plans when needed.
• Help mentor Project Engineers while contributing to continuous improvements in estimating, planning, and project delivery.

What You Bring:

• 8+ years of construction project management experience.
• Experience managing complex custom residential projects
• Experience with a full lifecycle of a construction project from groundbreaking through completion.
• Strong background in estimating, budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, subcontractor management, and owner communication.
• Experience managing sophisticated projects with demanding owners, architects, and consultants.
• Experience using Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar construction management software.
• A mature, collaborative leadership style with strong communication skills, business acumen, and the confidence to proactively address project challenges before they become larger issues.

Where and How Much:

Location: Gallatin Valley, MT, with projects throughout Big Sky and the greater Gallatin Valley. Office-based with regular project site visits.

Compensation: 130k+ DOE, w/ discretionary performance bonus. xhyhwjd
