Candidate Type: Traveler

Requirements: BLS; NBSTSA certification; CSFA, ABSA or similar; 2 years of Surgical First Assistant experience; broad Surgical First Assist experience in General Surgery, GYN, Neurosurgery/Spine, Orthopedics, Trauma, and Urology; experience with total joints, breast procedures, plastics, rhinoplasty, laparoscopic procedures, and robotic surgery; First Assist skills including tissue handling, clamping/cauterizing, suctioning/irrigation, wound closure, ligation, drainage tube placement, aseptic technique, instrument processing, isolation precautions, laser safety, sterilization/disinfection; Certifications required: BLS, NBSTSA, CSFA, ABSA or similar.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in a wide variety of surgical cases, including General Surgery, GYN, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Trauma, and Urology.

• Provide intraoperative support such as tissue handling, clamping, cauterizing, suctioning, and wound closure.

• Maintain sterile techniques and assist with instrument processing and sterilization procedures.

• Support robotic surgeries and procedures involving total joints, breast, plastics, rhinoplasty, and laparoscopic techniques.

• Contribute to patient safety through adherence to aseptic and infection control protocols.
