Position Summary We are seeking a Sr. Designer to join our Research, Design, New Product Development, and Sustaining Engineering Group in Houston, TX. The Sr. Designer will support new product development of downhole completion tool product lines, design and qualification testing, and provide technical support throughout the development lifecycle. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Generate layouts and detailed engineering calculations for new and modified equipment designs. Actively participate in development design reviews and make best‑choice recommendations. Ensure manufacturing drawings are consistent with the working layouts for product designs. Lead the assembly and lab testing of prototypes for product qualification. Draft documentation of new products. Provide technical assistance to manufacturing, assembly, and operation personnel. Review machine drawings and advise on manufacturability. Initiate, check, and approve change notices, test requests, and write test reports. Disposition of rejected parts. Work with minimum supervision. Qualifications Strong mechanical aptitude. Minimum of 7 years of experience in the design of downhole completion oil and gas tools. Experience in new product development. Experience working with API and ISO specifications (API 11D1, API 19V, API 19ICV, API 19AC, etc.). 3D modeling skills required; working knowledge of AutoDesk Inventor preferred. Hands‑on experience in a test lab and/or manufacturing facility. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Excellent written and spoken communication, efficiency, and time‑management skills. Education: Associate of Applied Science in Drafting and Design Engineering or equivalent education and experience is required.
