What You’ll Bring Required Bachelor’s degree in engineering (chemical, environmental, civil, or mechanical engineering), environmental science, or related discipline. 4+ years of experience in air quality compliance, permitting, and regulatory programs. Direct consulting or industry experience in the environmental field with working regulatory knowledge of local air districts, state and federal programs, Title V and RECLAIM facilities. Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to read, understand, and apply environmental regulations and agency guidance documents. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and build lasting client relationships. Strong communication, analytical, and technical writing skills. Driver’s License Required: This position requires a valid driver’s license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include travel to various client locations across a large geographic area. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship. Preferred Experience in energy transition (oil and gas), chemical, technology, manufacturing, chemical, or mining sectors. Familiarity with AERMOD, GIS, health risk assessments, CEQA, and other compliance programs. Master’s degree in a related discipline. Professional certifications (EIT, P.E., CSP, CHMM, or similar). Key Responsibilities Manage complex air permitting and compliance assurance programs under NSR, PSD, Title V, and state-level regulations. Conduct regulatory analyses and develop permitting strategies tailored to client operations. Engage with regulators to facilitate permit reviews and approvals. Prepare technical proposals and lead business development initiatives. Build and maintain client relationships that drive repeat business and market growth. Mentor junior staff and manage project teams across multiple ERM offices. Accepting applications on an ongoing basis. For the Managing Consultant, Environmental Air Quality Compliance, Engineering or Science position, the anticipated annual base pay is $103,967 - $132,573 USD. Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).
