No Position Summary The Program Coordinator supports the mission of the MulticulturalLife and Diversity Office ( MLDO ) by developing, coordinating andfacilitating educational programs, training initiatives, anddialogue opportunities that promote inclusive excellence,intercultural learning, belonging, and student success. The ProgramCoordinator collaborates with students, faculty, staff, residencelife and housing, and campus partners to support engagementopportunities for students from diverse backgrounds and coordinatesthe Annual Student Conference on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion ( DEI) and Social Justice. This position requires evening and weekendavailability to support programs and events, as needed. ExperienceCortland dives deep into the region’s offerings Annual Student Conference on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Social Justice Co-chair the planning committee for the Annual StudentConference on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Social Justice withstudent co-chair, including administration of the conference. Supervise student intern serving as the co-chair for theconference committee by meeting regularly with intern to supportand follow up on their tasks, complete internship paperwork, andevaluate intern performance and contribution. Coordinate conference logistics, including scheduling,registration, communications, vendor relationships, budgettracking, and event assessment. Recruit, train, and support student volunteers participating inconference planning and implementation. Evaluate conference outcomes and provide recommendations forfuture programming improvements. Residence Life and Housing DEI Programming and Training Partner with Residence Life and Housing professional andstudent staff to address emerging student concerns and fosterinclusive residential environments. Develop, coordinate, and facilitate educational programs thatpromote intercultural understanding, inclusive communities, andstudent engagement within the residential experience. Coordinate and facilitate the training provided by the MLDO forResident Assistants and Residence Life and Housing staff. Advise Residence Life and Housing staff on diversity, equity,inclusion and social justice related matters in the residencehall. Campus Education, Engagement, Outreach, and Representation Assist with facilitating programs and workshops for students,faculty and staff working collaboratively in support of the MLDOmission. Assist Assistant Director in coordinating social mediainitiatives and other communication efforts that promote MLDOprograms, services, and events. Assist with development and dissemination of marketing andcommunication materials, including social media, website content,newsletters, and promotional campaigns. Attend and support student programming, including evening andweekend programs such as the Voice Office events, late nightevents, trips, meetings and events hosted by studentorganizations. Serve on committees, councils or working groups that requestMLDO representation to support initiatives and advocate for theneeds of diverse student populations. Professional Development and Collaboration Stay informed about trends, best practices, and emerging issuesin student affairs, higher education, and inclusive studentengagement. Participate in professional development opportunities asresources allow Build and maintain collaborative relationships with on-campusand off-campus partners to support student success and advance themission of the MLDO . Functional and Supervisory Relationships Reports to the Assistant Director of Multicultural Life andDiversity Office ( MLDO ) Collaborates across the university with other offices,departments, and student groups. Collaborates with Residence Life and Housing staff. Supervises a student employee/intern.
