The North Plainfield School District, a culturally diverse school community in Somerset County serving 3,700 students Pre-K through grade 12, seeks a dynamic, enthusiastic and innovative professional for the position of Elementary School Special Education Teacher (Leave Replacement). As a special education teacher, you will play a vital role in creating a culture of success where all students thrive. At North Plainfield, we unlock potential and create impact every day. For those still in the process of attaining certification, please know that the North Plainfield School District is approved for participation in the NJDOE Limited Certificate Program which may allow you to work in a full-time role as you complete your final certification requirements. North Plainfield also offers a competitive benefits package.
Qualifications Include:
- Certification as Teacher of Students with Disabilities or TOH required
- Deep knowledge and understanding of the NJSLS
- Familiarity in working with data to help make informed instructional decisions
- Strong skill set in lesson planning, behavior management, curriculum development, assessment, and integrating various educational resources
- Growth mindset - the district provides professional development and employs instructional coaches to support teachers in their pedagogy
- Proven experience working with students in an inclusion setting
- Ability to differentiate instruction to a student's individual needs
Salary: $69,630 (minimum) to $78,630 (maximum) commensurate with experience Benefits as per contract: Medical, dental, paid time off, professional development, mentoring.
