Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on treatment under the direction of a supervising Physical Therapist, following each patient's established plan of care
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercise, gait training, transfers, and functional mobility activities
• Progress interventions within the established plan of care as patients advance, as directed by the supervising therapist
• Monitor patient response during treatment and report progress and concerns to the supervising therapist

Travel Physical Therapy Assistant Requirements:

• 2+ years of recent Physical Therapy Assistant experience.
• Must hold all required certifications and licenses as mandated by Florida and national regulatory bodies.

Select Specialty Hospital – Pensacola is a 52-bed free-standing critical illness recovery hospital (LTACH) in the Select Medical network, where therapists work with medically complex, post-ICU patients to restore breathing, speech, swallowing, mobility, and cognition.

• Long-term acute care for patients recovering from prolonged ICU stays, ventilator weaning, and complex wounds — a high-acuity, longer-length-of-stay caseload
• Interdisciplinary PT, OT, and speech-language pathology focused on helping patients breathe, speak, eat, walk, and think more independently
• On-site Select Medical Rehabilitation – Pensacola, a 22-bed acute inpatient rehabilitation unit, with a rehab gym and an ADL apartment for cooking and laundry practice before discharge
• Cognitive rehabilitation for executive function and daily-task safety, supporting return-to-home goals
