About the Position

# Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Ortho Med/Surg – Corpus Christi, Texas**Start Date:** October 19, 2026 **Location:** Corpus Christi, Texas **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends; 22-bed unit; maximum 6:1 patient ratio**Highlights:** - Acute care ortho med/surg unit with standard nursing equipment and technology- Work with a collaborative team of 30 nursing staff including charge nurses, RNs, PCAs, and unit support- Utilize Meditech EMR system for documentation and patient care coordination- Manage patient load of 4–6 patients per shift with comprehensive ortho and med/surg case mix- Floating to other med/surg units as needed to support facility-wide patient care- Supportive day and night shift staffing model with dedicated charge nurse leadership**Requirements:** - Active Texas RN license (or compact state license with ability to obtain Texas license)- Minimum 2+ years acute med/surg nursing experience within the last year- Demonstrated ability to safely care for 4–6 patients simultaneously- Proficiency in standard nursing skills including IV insertions, urinary catheter care, central line maintenance, and medication administration- Preferred: 2+ years ortho nursing experience- BLS certification required**Why It's a Great Opportunity:** This position offers the chance to work in a well-established ortho med/surg unit with consistent ratios and a team-focused culture.
