Sr Java DeveloperLocation: Washington, DC/ OnsiteEmployment type: Contract w2/1099/C2CMinimum Education: Bachelor's degree in IT, related field, or equivalent experience.Required Experience: 16 yearsInterviews: In PersonThe Senior JAVA Developer position requires in-depth knowledge of JAVA and J2EE background using Spring Technologies framework, design, and architectural styles /API's (REST/RPC) and Agile methodologies for the development of application programs.The client will be modernizing the District Application Destiny project to leverage new digital technologies such as cloud computing, data analytics, artificial intelligence and mobile that are required to create modern experience for customers and partners. Modernizing the Enterprise Application Destiny helps improve their services to citizens, enhance government operations while strengthening the overall data security. To address these challenges, the team is looking to hire highly skilled individuals to rapidly connect Enterprise Destiny Application with modern technology while minimizing disruption to the existing systems.Responsibilities:Ensure that the technologies are updated with current, stable, and compliant architecture and applications that meet enterprise standards.Collaborate with internal teams to produce software design and architectureDevelop, Test and Deploy applications and systemsRevise, update, refactor and debug codeImprove existing JAVA applications and systemsProactively monitors and reports performance utilization of assigned technologies.Troubleshoot software and/or hardware issues/failures.Manage problems or escalated tickets and tasks and out-of-cycle requests from systems/software owners.Determine the best course of action for meeting business needs and provide consultative expertise to customers on how to best use systems.Proactively monitors and identifies broader, more complex issues across multiple, integrated, connecting technologies and communicate as appropriate.Provides technical knowledge and support to District agencies, personnel, and additional stakeholdersPerforms other related duties as assignedMay coordinate activities of application developers.Able to identify best practices and standards for the use of the product.Delivers support and design for industry specific applications that require integration with statewide systems or applicationsInteracts with executive level business users or technical expertsMay function as a niche technical SME (Subject Matter Expert)Skills:Experience with core JAVA development with strong back-end development.JAVA – Annotations, Generics, Reflection, Inheritance, OO Design, NIO, Bean Validation.Spring Boot Application Development Experience.Spring – Java Config, Dependency Injection, Autowiring Concepts.Spring Integration Development Experience.Spring Web Services Development Experience.Synchronous and Asynchronous programming experience – Callbacks, Future, Timeout and Error Handling.Experience with MAVEN Project Build experience.Experience with GIT version control repository.Experience with Tomcat/Jetty/undertow Application Servers.Experience with LINUX working environment.Experience with JIRA Issue tracker.16+ yrs. conveying technical and functional concepts for a specific technical specialty.16+ yrs. preparing complex technical documentation.Bachelor's degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience.RedHat Openshift Container-based application development and deployment experience.Working with mainframe CICS containers and channels using JCA connectors.Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Development practice.Must have enough experience to qualify for a Master Level position.Compensation: $80.00 - $85.00 per hour AHU Technologies, Inc.
