Job Summary A Personal Banker I processes all transactions accurately and efficiently in accordance with established policies and procedures. The successful Personal Banker I will be the “frontline” of our bank and plays a fundamental role in achieving customer satisfaction and revenue growth objectives by cross‑selling bank products and services. A Personal Banker I should have a professional appearance, customer‑focused attitude and be courteous, efficient, helpful, accurate, eager to learn and friendly. Essential Job Duties Complies with all department and company policies, procedures, and regulations and contributes to the fulfillment of workplace objectives and goals. Represents the bank in a manner that maintains and expands positive relations with customers and potential customers. Greets customers courteously and provides prompt and efficient service via lobby, drive‑up and phone interactions. Observes details at close range (computer screen, currency, documents, facial recognition) to process transactions and make decisions. Promotes the bank’s products and services, answers inquiries, and refers customers to the appropriate service area when issues cannot be resolved at the teller line. Performs as a team member in allocating and coordinating workflow. Communicates information and ideas so others understand and exchanges accurate information in these situations. Meets expectations for attendance and punctuality and maintains the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism. Maintains a clean, organized work area and contributes to overall bank cleanliness. Counts currency by hand accurately and efficiently. Processes consumer and commercial deposits, withdrawals, and payments, verifying endorsements, signatures, account balances and negotiability. Records and processes night deposits and mail transactions; processes currency and coin change orders; assists customers with coin machine transactions and safe‑deposit box access. Maintains and balances an adequate cash drawer, including buying, selling, transporting currency and coin from the vault, bundling and packaging currency, and operating the cash recycler where applicable. Processes miscellaneous products and services such as cashier’s checks, money orders, savings bonds, collections items, utility payments, third‑party checks, credit‑card cash advances, prepaid cards, property‑tax payments, license‑sticker renewals, and postal services where applicable. Completes currency transaction reports, monetary transaction logs, suspicious transaction reports and hold forms with assistance. Has working knowledge of regulatory compliance, CIP policy, BSA policy, Regulation CC and CRA policy. May perform additional duties including: Assist with opening and/or closing the bank. Assist with reconciling and servicing the ATM(s). Assist with verifying cash shipment from the Federal Reserve. Balance teller ancillary services. Check and scan teller work. Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. 1–3 years customer service experience. 1–3 years cash‑handling experience. 1–3 years sales experience (preferred). Working Conditions Uses standard office equipment (computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, calculators, fax machines). Available to work during bank operating hours (7:45 am–6:15 pm Monday–Friday; 7:45 am–1:15 pm Saturday). Full‑time employees scheduled 37–40 hours per week. Occasional local travel for off‑site training, meetings, or temporary assignments. Regularly talks, hears, stands, walks, uses hands, lifts up to 15 lbs (occasionally 50 lbs). Multitasks in a fast‑paced, changing environment while maintaining accuracy and timeliness. Follows policies, procedures, and written or verbal instructions from supervisors. Maintains confidentiality. Benefits $16.00–$19.00 per hour with performance‑based bonuses and incentives. Health, dental, and vision insurance.
