Begin your assignment in mid-August and join a dedicated education team through early June, working 16 hours each week. You’ll collaborate closely with school staff, adapting instruction and providing vital access and advocacy for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Your expertise helps open doors to academic success and personal growth.

Qualifications:

• Valid North Carolina DHH (Deaf/Hard of Hearing) teaching license
• Experience working as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in school settings
• Strong ability to adapt curriculum and resources to meet diverse communication needs
• Skilled in using multiple communication modalities, including ASL and spoken English
• Effective collaborator and communicator with educators, families, and support staff
• Passion for promoting accessibility, inclusion, and student self-advocacy

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small group instruction tailored to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
• Adapt educational materials and classroom environments for optimal student access
• Consult regularly with classroom teachers, service providers, and families to support student growth
• Monitor, document, and communicate student progress and needs
• Assist in IEP development and meeting participation as required
