Job Details Department: College of Arts & Sciences Job Type: Part time FLSA Status: Exempt Position Summary Adjunct faculty to teach a 3‑credit Introduction to American Sign Language course for the upcoming academic year. Rank will depend on highest degree held in the field. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Qualifications Advanced degree (doctorate or master’s) from a nationally accredited institution. Native or near‑native fluency in ASL. Demonstrated teaching excellence in American Sign Language at different levels. Strong understanding of Deaf culture and community. Commitment to collegiality, good citizenship, and service to the school. Duties and Responsibilities Teach one section of ASL as assigned. Develop lesson plans and classroom materials in alignment with department standards. Incorporate Deaf culture and language into instruction. Evaluate and assess student performance in a timely manner. Hold regular office hours to support student learning. Use Canvas, the learning management platform, to communicate and post course material.
