About the Role
Support the Level II Nursery in a combined Unit Coordinator/Patient Care Associate role focused primarily on clerical, supply, and unit-support responsibilities.
You will help keep the nursery organized, answer phones, support secure visitor access, and ensure necessary supplies are available. The position includes occasional hands-on newborn support, such as assisting with feedings under the direction of the nursing team, but it is not primarily a clinical-care role.
What You'll Do
- Answer the unit telephone and route calls and messages appropriately
- Welcome parents and approved visitors and assist with access to the secured unit
- Communicate professionally with families, nurses, physicians, and hospital staff
- Order, receive, organize, and put away unit supplies
- Monitor inventory and notify the appropriate team member when supplies need to be reordered
- Restock formula, feeding products, diapers, linens, and other newborn-care items
- Maintain clean and organized supply, clerical, and patient-care areas
- Assist with unit paperwork and other clerical responsibilities
- Support nurses and other members of the care team with assigned unit tasks
- Occasionally assist with feeding newborns under the direction of licensed staff
- Follow hospital confidentiality, safety, infection-prevention, and unit-security procedures
- Cross-train and support other areas as needed

This position offers exposure to the Level II Nursery environment while building experience in hospital operations, family communication, unit coordination, and newborn-care support. Candidates should understand that the role is centered primarily on clerical duties, supply management, and supporting the daily operation of the nursery, with occasional direct newborn care.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Previous clerical experience (preferably in a healthcare setting). Medical terminology is preferred.
- Ability to read and write at level 8, as documented on "Invest," the hospital's Employee Learning Laboratory software.
- An ability to set appropriate priorities and organize workflow.
- An ability to concentrate and pay attention to detail during frequent interruptions.
- Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to interface with support and professional staff and patients.

- Ability to walk and stand for up to 90% of work time, and to push and pull heavy work objects (including patients), and lift 50 lbs. Fine motor control for limited periods to perform patient treatments.
Pay Range:
$20.00 - $26.92
The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
