COFFEE COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM Job Description Custodian  Responsible to: PrincipalHead CustodianQualifications:High School Diploma or GEDExhibits appropriate communication skillsMeets necessary health and physical requirements in order to fulfill the physical demands Essential Responsibilities:Maintains all buildings and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areasneat and clean at all timesAssists in maintaining an inventory of supplies, equipment, and fuel on handRegulates heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to provide temperaturesappropriate to the season and to ensure economical usage of fuel, water, andelectricityFollows proper safety procedures to maintain the security of the building and grounds Performs minor building repairsReports major repair needs promptlyComplies with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trashand wasteKnows and follows all safety rules and proper procedures associated with the job ofcustodianParticipates in required annual safety trainingWorks in conjunction with district maintenance personnel to maintain building needsDemonstrates positive customer service skillsGeneral Requirements:Follows Federal and State Laws and adopted policies and procedures in accordance with School Board prioritiesConducts oneself in the best interest of students, in accordance with the higheststandards of public education and in support of the District's Vision/MissionStatementsMaintains ethical standards, which include professionalism and the protection ofconfidential student and staff information Other responsibilities and/or duties may be required and assignedBOE Revisions Approved 2/8/10
