Transfer Specialist (part-time)

Job Responsibilities Safely drive company owned professional vehicles to perform “first call” transfer of deceased in accordance with local and state/provincial laws as well as company policies and procedures. Follow processes for chain-of-custody, paperwork, and deceased identification. Cooperate with first responders, coroner, hospital staff, or senior living facility to accommodate their processes and procedures. For home transfers, courteously and professionally interact with bereaved family members; exhibit sensitivity to the environment and minimize conversation. Follow company procedures in transferring soiled garments, bedding, or other materials; leave a warm and courteous first impression. Enter deceased event information into proprietary software according to company procedures. Transport caskets to airports, care centers, or funeral homes; assist with moving caskets. Maintain vehicle cleanliness: wash, vacuum, and clean vehicles; fuel vehicles as necessary; follow safety guidelines and expenditure processes; maintain personal protective and transfer supplies; identify vehicle issues and report to management; drive vehicles for repair or inspection. Education & Licenses High school diploma or equivalent. Licenses Current state/province issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Experience At least one (1) year of work experience as a courier or driver; direct customer interaction strongly preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Work schedule to support business needs, including weekends and nights. Work on‑call weekends, nights, and holidays in a rotation. Lift up to 75 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally, push or pull up to 200 pounds. Drive in hazardous, heavy traffic, and adverse weather conditions. Basic computer skills required. Work Conditions Work indoors and/or outdoors during all seasons and weather conditions. Local and/or multiple location travel required. Comply with field dress code policy. Postures / Physical Demands Frequent, continuous periods of standing, up to 6 hours per day. Climbing stairs to access buildings frequently. Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 75 pounds; manual dexterity required for paperwork, calculators, computers, and phone usage. Work Hours Work beyond standard hours as the need arises. Local travel up to 100% using company vehicle.
