Job Summary A Registered Nurse in the Main OR Pre-Op/PACU at Trinity Oakland (Pontiac) is responsible for managing patient care during a designated timeframe. The role includes coordination and evaluation of care, teaching and delegation of patient activities to the health care team using therapeutic self, nursing process, and environmental considerations. Employment Type Part time Shift Day Shift Required Education / Licensure Current Michigan Nursing License Graduation from an accredited nursing program BSN degree preferred or agreement to obtain a BSN within five years Experience Previous Pre-Op/PACU experience Critical Care experience strongly preferred About the Department The Main OR Pre-Op/PACU at Trinity Oakland (Pontiac) is a 39-bay (22 Pre-Op, 17 PACU) department within the Trinity Health Oaklan Level 2 Trauma Center, which has 15 operating rooms averaging 35 cases per day. The mission is to provide highest-quality care to patients undergoing surgical interventions, both during pre-operative preparation and post-anesthesia recovery. The unit cares for inpatients and outpatients across elective, urgent, and emergent service lines, including Acute Care Surgery, Colorectal, General Surgery, Cardio-Thoracic, Orthopedics, Endocrinology, Neurosurgery, Urology, Gynecology, Oncology, and Vascular, as well as off-shift Endoscopy. Nursing staff is supported 24/7 by department-based Anesthesiologists. The department is a Certified Joint Center of Excellence and a Robotic Center of Excellence.
