Clinical Research Coordinator

We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Research Coordinator to join our team in Port Arthur, Texas. In this pivotal role, you will coordinate the execution of all clinical study protocol activities while maintaining Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards and adhering to Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations. You will play a key role in conducting multiple clinical trials and collaborating closely with the Principal Investigator, Sub-Investigators, and support staff.

Responsibilities

• Administratively and clinically manage industry-sponsored clinical trials, including problem solving, communication, and protocol management.
• Lead patient recruitment activities such as performing chart reviews, discussing protocols with patients, and verifying informed consent documentation.
• Schedule all patient research visits and procedures consistent with protocol requirements.
• Conduct patient visits as outlined within each study protocol.
• Dispense study medication, collect vital signs, and perform ECGs.
• Perform blood draws, process, and ship specimens per study protocol and IATA regulations.
• Ensure relevant study and subject-specific information is entered into the CTMS system regularly.
• Complete and maintain documentation study files, including consent forms, source documentation, progress notes, case report forms, and investigational accountability forms.
• Act as a point of contact for study participants.
• Adhere to Research SOPs, Good Clinical Practices, and study protocols.
• Maintain ongoing communication with the CRO, sponsor, research participants, Site Manager, and PI throughout the course of the study.
• Ensure all safety data is reviewed by the PI in a timely manner.
• Maintain inventory of study equipment and supplies onsite at all times.
• Participate actively in communication of status and results to management.
• Assist with routine data verification and quality control, ensuring data integrity and consistency with prescribed study protocol.
• Schedule and prepare for monitor visits.
• Assist the Study Team in protecting the rights and welfare of all human research participants involved in research in accordance with Federal regulations.
• Cooperate with site compliance and monitoring efforts regarding the access, use, and disclosure of PHI and report instances of noncompliance.
• Complete and maintain case report forms per FDA guidelines, and review them against the patient's medical record for completeness and accuracy.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in a Clinical Research Coordinator role.
• Phlebotomy skills are highly desired.
• High school diploma or equivalent GED.
• Experience with Phase 1 and outpatient trials.
• Five to seven years of experience in a CRC role or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to guide research-naïve staff.
• Knowledge of protocol and medical terminology.
• Understanding of regulatory and HIPAA requirements.
• Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a high-paced environment.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems and Microsoft Office.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• CCRC Certification preferred.
• Familiarity with GCP and IATA regulations.

Work Environment

This role requires frequent sitting, walking, standing, reading, seeing, speaking, hearing, listening, organizing, interpreting data and information, operating office equipment, typing using a computer keyboard, and viewing a computer screen monitor. The work environment is primarily indoors and climate-controlled, with frequent exposure to a healthcare clinical setting, including potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens and other hazards. The position requires a presence onsite 5 days a week in Port Arthur, Texas.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Port Arthur, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.84 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
