Supplier Quality Engineer

Job Responsibilities Plan, support, and implement supplier quality programs with the Corporate Materials Department. Evaluate, select, and develop the supply base, assessing new supplier technologies. Formulate and execute internal/external supplier quality control policies and procedures. Impose corporate quality standards on the supply base and ensure compliance. Monitor and control cost, timing, and other project aspects related to supplier quality. Act as a technical liaison, coordinating internal and external resources. Provide problem‑solving support to overcome obstacles. Participate in quality planning during the product launch phase. Lead supplier development projects, championing continuous improvement. Research and recommend implementation of new or existing quality assurance processes. Support suppliers in the Production Part Approval Process. Engage in comparative analysis to select optimal techniques. Perform other duties as assigned; may supervise staff. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or equivalent) with an understanding of quality engineering practices. Minimum three years of experience in quality engineering or project/program management (or equivalent). Comprehensive knowledge of quality engineering principles and familiarity with technologies, products, suppliers, and programs. Strong organizational, project‑management, and leadership skills; able to prioritize and manage conflicting needs. Ability to work independently with clear, effective written and verbal communication. Capability to operate standard and specialized equipment required for the role. Strong computer skills to calculate, analyze data, and generate reports. Demonstrated ability to research and recommend new suppliers, products, and processes. Initiate continuous‑improvement processes. Willingness to travel within North America up to 50% of the time. Physical Requirements Lift up to 35 lbs. as needed. Stand, walk, bend, and sit for extended periods. Maintain proper vision requirements. Maintain alertness to surroundings.
