PositionOverview EOSolutionsisseekingan EmbeddedSoftwareEngineer tosupportthedevelopment,integration,andtestingofembeddedcontrolsoftwareforadvancedHighEnergyLaser(HEL)systems. Thispositionwillprimarilysupportourdirectedenergyprograms,developingsoftwarethatinterfacesdirectlywithsensors,actuators,electronics,communicationshardware,andcontrolsystems. Wearelookingforengineerswhoenjoyworkingattheboundarybetween softwareandelectricalhardware .Theidealcandidatehasastrongfoundationinembeddedprogrammingandenoughelectricalengineeringknowledgetotroubleshootrealsystemsusingschematics,oscilloscopes,logicanalyzers,andotherlaboratoryequipment. Thispositionisopentocandidatesrangingfromtalentednewgraduatestoexperiencedembeddedsoftwareengineers.Responsibilitiesandtechnicalleadershipopportunitieswillscalewithexperience. KeyResponsibilities DevelopembeddedsoftwareandfirmwareinRustorC/C++forreal-timecontrolsystems. Integratesoftwarewithsensors,actuators,motorcontrollers,communicationsinterfaces,andotherhardware. Developandtestcommunicationsbetweenembeddeddevicesandhigher-levelcontrolsystems. Debughardware/softwareinteractionsusinglaboratoryequipmentsuchasoscilloscopes,multimeters,andlogicanalyzers. Developautomatedunit,integration,andhardware-in-the-looptests. Participateinsystemintegration,laboratorytesting,andfieldtesting. Workcloselywithsoftware,electrical,mechanical,optical,andcontrolsengineers. DevelopmaintainablesoftwareusingGit,codereviews,CI/CD,andautomatedtesting. Documentsoftwareinterfaces,designs,testproceduresandresults. Usemodern AI-assistedsoftwaredevelopment toolswhileindependentlyverifyinggeneratedcodeforcorrectness,safety,andmaintainability. RequiredQualifications Bachelor'sdegreeinComputerEngineering,ElectricalEngineering,ComputerScience,orarelatedtechnicaldiscipline. Experienceprogrammingin Rust, C,orC++ ,throughprofessionalwork,internships,coursework,research,orpersonalprojects. Understandingofembeddedsystemsandbasicelectricalengineeringconcepts. Abilitytoreadelectricalschematicsandtroubleshoothardware/softwareinterfaces. Familiaritywithcommonembeddedinterfacesorprotocolssuchas Ethernet,I2C,UART/RS-232/422,orsimilar . Strongproblem-solvingskillsandinterestinhands-onhardware/softwaredevelopment. AbilitytoobtainandmaintainaU.S.securityclearance. PreferredQualifications Experienceinoneormoreofthefollowingishelpful: STM32orotherARM-basedmicrocontrollers. EmbeddedRustorC/C++firmwaredevelopment. Ethernet,UDP/TCP,EtherCAT,orotherreal-timecommunications. Motorcontrol,servosystems,sensors,orFPGAinterfaces. Hardware-in-the-looptestingandautomatedtestequipment. Pythonfortestautomation,analysis,orengineeringtools. GitLabCI/CDorotherautomatedbuildandtestsystems. Linuxembeddeddevelopment. Aerospace,defense,robotics,controls,orDirectedEnergysystems.
