Therapist PRN

Title Therapist Job Type PRN Overview Support the needs of the department with a focus on clinical, operational, and administrative excellence. Responsibilities Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to educate patients regarding psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems Display active involvement in treatment planning process Provide family session counseling to all patients to ensure appropriate communication and involvement of family members and support groups Actively communicate with clients, families, and outside referral sources Demonstrate proactive communication with those involved with the patient's treatment Work well with the interdisciplinary team including physicians, utilization review and nursing staff members Demonstrate active communication with team members Effectively communicate to UR on treatment and LOS issues Complete appropriate paperwork for clients in a timely, accurate and complete manner Demonstrate appropriate crisis intervention and de-escalation skills Act as a member of team when a crisis situation occurs, assisting others to ensure patient safety Complete accurate assessments of patients utilizing clinical skills Assist care coordination department as requested Complete all documentation thoroughly, timely, and in accordance with hospital standards Display a thorough knowledge of confidentiality Complete releases appropriately Demonstrate knowledge of HIPAA regulations and abide by those standards Demonstrate a working knowledge of all clinical regulations, including TJC, Medicaid, and state and federal laws Display active involvement in the discharge, transition, and after-care planning treatment processes Other duties as assigned Additional Information Prior experience with psychiatric and chemical dependency patients. Qualifications and Requirements Education: Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or equivalent required. License: Current clinical or social work license as required by state regulations.
