Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Cardiovascular ICU setting with a 1:1–2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Manage a complex patient mix including fresh post-operative open heart cases, ventilated patients, chest tubes, lumbar drains, and patients with chronic or acute renal failure
• Operate and monitor advanced hemodynamic and mechanical support devices including Impella, IABP, and CRRT using Prismax
• Perform post-operative open heart recovery for procedures such as CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR
• Utilize Swan-Ganz catheters, Flotrack, temporary pacers, arterial lines, and chest tube management
• Float as required to all ICUs, PACU, ED for ICU holding patients, and IMC units based on census and staffing needs

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of current CVICU experience required; SICU experience with CVICU training may be considered
• Active New Jersey RN license or valid Compact license required at time of submission
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required at time of submission
• Demonstrated experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT (Prismax) or fresh open heart cases is required for consideration
• Proficiency with Swan-Ganz catheters, Flotrack, temporary pacers, arterial lines, and chest tube management
• Availability to work every other weekend and holidays as applicable; must be available for 2 of 3 designated holidays

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience as a first-time travel nurse is accepted
• Background in SICU with willingness to complete initial CVICU training
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records system
