Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Day shift, 3x12 hour shifts.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting safety and quality outcomes for patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to establish individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs related to each patient's diagnosis and collaborate with patients/families and the interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Engage in the patient rehabilitation program and focus on patient education based on health care needs.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and provide necessary patient teaching.
• Communicate changes in patient status effectively among care providers for continuity of care.
• Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, ensuring effective delegation of tasks.
• Maintain personal and environmental safety following hospital policies and procedures.
• Participate in team-building activities to foster a positive work environment.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested and prioritize activities effectively based on patient needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (specific to CIRH).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is required.
• Minimum of one year of ICU experience is highly desired.
