Granby Police Department
A Police Officer is responsible for responding to calls for service and assistance requests. Response may be on foot or by driving from place to place in a squad car. A Police Officer proactively and reactively enforces Federal, State of Colorado, and Town of Granby laws by making physical arrests and issuing summons to violators. A Police Officer is required to prepare reports on actions taken and testify in a court of law when required. Candidates shall be a graduate from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice or other appropriate field of study; or possess any equivalent combination of education, experience, or training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Additionally, candidates shall be in possession of or have the ability to obtain, a valid Colorado driver license and Certification by Colorado P.O.S.T. (Police Officer Standardized Training).
