MRI Technologist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our dynamic Radiology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing MRI scans, ensuring patient safety, and obtaining high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities

Perform MRI scans on patients, focusing on musculoskeletal, neurological, and body imaging.
Start IVs as required for contrast administration during procedures.
Conduct creatinine draws as needed.
Maintain professionalism and effective communication with patients and healthcare team members.
Participate in rotating call schedule as necessary.
Be available for floating between multiple locations within the region as needed.
Precept new staff and assist in training as required by the unit.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist.
Certification in BLS (AHA) and ARRT (MR) is required.
Must possess a Medical Radiologic Technologist license from the Texas Medical Board.
Experience with Philips and Siemens MRI equipment is highly preferred.
Familiarity with Meditech and Synapse software for EMR and PACS is advantageous.

Work Schedule

This position requires a full-time commitment, typically Monday through Friday, with start times around 7:30 AM. The candidate will also be part of the call rotation, which includes weekend and holiday responsibilities.

Equipment

The department is equipped with 1-2 MRI scanners per location, and proficiency in using 1.5T MRI equipment is essential.

Miscellaneous

Black scrubs are required; scrubs will not be provided.
Call-outs are strongly discouraged and may result in termination.
Capability to handle up to 10 scans/studies per day.
