Overview Certified Medical Assistant - Novant Health Surgical Partners | Asheville, NC Join a compassionate, high-performing surgical team supporting specialty surgeons in cancer, surgical oncological, endocrinology, colon & rectal and minimally invasive surgery. As a Certified Medical Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in delivering remarkable patient experiences—every visit, every time. What You'll Do Room patients and take vitals Assist with in-office procedures and administer medications Support patient referrals, radiology orders, and care coordination Build meaningful, personalized relationships with patients Work closely with surgeons and clinical teams in a specialty ambulatory setting What We're Looking For Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement, required. Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred. Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Driver's License (Palliative Care Only), required. Refer to Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096. Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
