Senior Director, Medical Affairs

Are you a proven oncology leader looking to build a Medical Affairs function from the ground up? A growing biopharmaceutical innovator is seeking a Senior Director, Medical Affairs to lead the strategic scientific direction for a key late-stage breast cancer asset. This is a fully remote position with up to 20% domestic travel for key opinion leader (KOL) engagement, major congresses, and occasional visits to the Seattle headquarters.

responsibilities:

• Build, lead, and execute the integrated global Medical Affairs strategy for a Phase 3 breast cancer asset through NDA submission and market authorization.
• Serve as a hands-on strategic leader, developing scientific narratives, publication plans, core slide decks, and medical communications.
• Establish and nurture strong relationships with global breast cancer KOLs, academic investigators, and professional societies.
• Partner cross-functionally with Commercial, Clinical Development, and Regulatory teams to ensure alignment and launch readiness.
• Oversee medical reviews of promotional and non-promotional content, as well as investigator-sponsored studies.
• Drive competitive intelligence gathering and therapeutic insights to shape ongoing evidence generation.

 
qualifications:

• Advanced scientific or medical degree (MD, PharmD, or PhD).
• 7+ years of Medical Affairs experience within a biopharmaceutical sponsor company.
• Direct therapeutic experience in breast cancer (required).
• Proven track record developing and executing Medical Affairs strategies beyond field-based MSL roles.
• Demonstrated experience and comfort operating as an individual contributor in a lean environment.
