Shift Mechanic Job

Bostik - Calumet City is now hiring for Shift Mechanic! (Starting wage $43.41 with an annual bonus potential of 4%) As a Shift Mechanic, you will be an individual contributor working in a fast‑paced environment performing various duties such as the operation and maintenance of plant utilities including boilers, treatment ponds, chillers, cooling towers, and air compressors. You will safely perform routine maintenance activities on process equipment including pumps, agitators, and valves. Additional duties include the operation of forklifts to move materials and supplies in the plant, maintaining work areas, and reporting accurate inventories to management for efficient cost control. Requirements Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, in a 24×7 operation. Ability to complete work orders in the maintenance database system and complete computer‑based training. Strong work history demonstrating mechanical aptitude. Good communication skills. Self‑motivated, positive attitude, and a team player. Authorized to work in the United States. Preferred 3 years of previous maintenance/mechanical experience in a PSM‑regulated environment. Safe driving experience with forklift certification. One year certificate from a college, technical school, or equivalent experience and training. 3 years experience working with hazardous and flammable chemicals.
