Relocation Assistance Available --- About the Role James Tool Machine and Engineering, Inc. is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our team in Morganton, NC. This role focuses on Prototrak 3-Axis CNC Mills and Lathes in a job shop / non-production environment . The right candidate will be able to program, set up, and operate machines to produce high-precision components. Key Responsibilities Program, set up, and operate Prototrak 3-axis CNC mills and lathes Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T to machine parts accurately Work in a fast-paced job shop environment on low-volume, high-mix parts Commit to and follow all plant safety policies and procedures Ensure quality standards are met in alignment with ISO 9001 and AS9100 requirements Adapt to frequent changes in daily machining priorities Requirements 3+ years of CNC machining experience (mills and/or lathes) Proficiency in manual, conversational, or CAM programming Experience with Mastercam preferred Strong understanding of precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.) Ability to work independently and handle changing priorities Willingness to work overtime as needed Required Tools Candidates must provide their own basic machinist tools, including: Dial/Digital Calipers (0–6") Micrometers (up to 3") .0005 Indicator & Edge Finder 1-2-3 Blocks, Precision Parallels Calculator, Mallet, Adjustable Wrench Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions Problem-solving mindset and adaptability Team-oriented attitude with a focus on quality and precision Why Join James Tool?
