General Job Description This position reports to the Director of Test Monitoring and Inspector General Investigations. Performs complex managerial work overseeing the daily operations and requirements of division programs. Work involves developing and evaluating procedures, priorities, and standards for achieving program objectives. Coordinating and planning of activities to implement program requirements. Investigating/auditing compliance in program areas. Plans, assigns, and supervises the work of others. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Minimum Qualifications Education: Graduation from an accredited four year college or university. Experience: Five (5) years experience in management or equivalent experience. Preferred experience in monitoring the administration of statewide assessment programs such as the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills. Substitution: Each additional year of related experience above the required minimum may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis. Travel: 10% Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSA) Knowledge of: local, state, and federal laws and rules relevant to program areas; principles and practices of public school or state agency services and organization. Skill in: mediation/complaint resolution of school matters; interviewing students and school staff; research; effective problem-solving; developing/providing training; effective oral/written communications. Ability to: manage multiple projects and timeliness; establish cooperative and collaborative efforts with others. Note: An in-basket exercise may be conducted at time of interview. Salary is dependent on qualifications. Positions exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will earn compensatory time off rather than overtime for hours in excess of 40 per week.
