About the Role

The Import/Export Pedimento Clerk supports Grupo Carso's cross-border logistics operations at the US-Mexico border. This role is responsible for preparing and validating Mexican pedimento documentation, coordinating with Mexican customs brokers, and ensuring every shipment crosses the border in full compliance with US and Mexican regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and validate shipping documentation for accuracy, reporting discrepancies to the Shipping leader
• Enter complementary data into the Mexican customs broker system to initiate the pedimento proforma, verifying special requirements under Mexican law (trato preferencial, NOM compliance, identificadores especiales, Secretaría permits, special certificates)
• Maintain and release pedimento proforma data to the Mexican customs broker representative for validation and duty payments
• Obtain and maintain special import permits to support an expedited import process
• Coordinate with Logtec and carriers to transfer shipments from the USA into Mexico in compliance with DOT and US Customs and Border Protection regulations
• Prepare and submit Electronic Export Information (EEI) to the US Census Bureau and obtain the corresponding ITN confirmation
• Prepare and document bonded merchandise (in-bond shipments) and notify CBP in a timely manner
• Review, prepare, and rectify pedimento regularizations resulting from customer requirements or shipping discrepancies (price or quantity adjustments)
• Ensure correct customs procedures are applied to return shipments from the USA to Mexico to avoid unjustified duty payments
• Document HAZMAT safety coding for cross-border transport of materials in accordance with applicable regulations
• Maintain complete documentation and records for all imported shipments
• Serve as backup for Duty Classifier duties when needed
• Support ISO 9001 quality system requirements

Qualifications

Required:

• Experience with import/export procedures and customs documentation, ideally including Mexican pedimentos, EEI/AES filings, or US-Mexico border operations
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English (written and verbal)
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Proficiency in data entry and general computer literacy
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in international trade, logistics, or customs compliance
• Familiarity with HAZMAT documentation requirements
• Experience working with Mexican customs brokers
