Patient Service Technician II - Lab service - Kelsey Seybold Clinics: Memorial City

Kelsey‑Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family, invites applicants to join our multi‑specialty clinic located in Houston. We are dedicated to coordinated, accountable care with more than 900 medical providers across 65 specialties. Primary Responsibilities Perform pediatric and adult venipunctures, finger sticks, heel sticks, and other collection services as ordered by the provider. Perform CLIA‑waived testing (urine dip, pregnancy tests, finger stick blood glucose, fecal occult blood, rapid influenza, finger stick PT/INR, monospots, sed rate, rapid strep) as described in the laboratory procedure manual with minimal or no supervision. Maintain accurate laboratory records and make them available for inspections/audits by Lab Supervisor, Lab Director, Lab Consultant, and CLIA Surveyors. Perform necessary quality controls; participate in proficiency testing program as required. Maintain lab instruments per manufacturer recommendations and follow all safety guidelines. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited school. 2+ years of experience in an accredited Phlebotomy Program OR 3+ years of directly related phlebotomy experience in a patient service center, clinic, or hospital with at least 1 year of waived testing experience. Ability to obtain BLS within 30 days of employment. Fluency in English (speaking, writing, understanding). Ability to complete the KSC review/skill validation program within 90 days of hire. Ability to use related equipment. Experience with computers and Windows‑based software. Good customer service principles and practices. Preferred Qualifications Certified Phlebotomist and Certified/Registered Medical Assistant. Member of an accredited phlebotomy national organization. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of electronic medical record systems. EPIC experience. Bi‑lingual. Benefits & Compensation Hourly pay ranges from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour for full‑time employment, based on local labor markets, education, experience, and certifications.
