Position Overview Micron Technology seeks a passionate, strategic, and community‑centered Staff, Social Impact & Community Engagement to advance its social impact initiatives in Idaho and Mexico. This role serves as Micron’s local advocate for inclusive STEM education, supporting community efforts and employee participation at two diverse locations. Reporting directly to the North America Regional Director of SICE, you will lead the community engagement lifecycle for your territories, sourcing and managing grants, mobilizing employee volunteers and donors, establishing partnerships with nonprofits, civic groups, and representing Micron as a trusted and visible corporate citizen. Responsibilities Grantmaking & Portfolio Management Source, build, and supervise a local grants portfolio consistent with Micron’s social impact strategy, emphasizing growing access to STEM education, employment, and career pathways for underserved communities in Idaho and Mexico. Deliver STEM Signature Programs such as Chip Camps, Careers in Tech, and Going Tech through grants to reputable community partners. Steward grants through all phases – partner identification, application assessment, impact evaluation, and relationship support – integrating participatory grantmaking practices and employee resource group engagement. Manage all grants, sponsorships, and in‑kind giving via Benevity. Employee Volunteering & Giving Build and implement strategies that engage staff volunteers and contributors across Idaho and Mexico, fostering a culture of giving and service. Lead site‑level planning for Star Light, Micron’s annual global month of service, ensuring strong participation, meaningful activities, and compelling storytelling. Cultivate partnerships with local nonprofits and community organizations that offer high‑quality, skills‑based volunteering opportunities for Micron team members. Community Engagement Formulate and deliver a community engagement plan customized for each area, nurturing constructive relationships with nonprofits, schools, multilateral entities, government associates, and other civil society partners. Establish and maintain connections with other corporate and private philanthropic bodies, positioning Micron as a credible community ally. Represent Micron at local community functions and act as spokesperson for media and partner interactions related to social impact activities in Idaho and Mexico. Corporate Collaboration & Shared Value Integrate social impact into Micron’s broader business priorities through a shared‑value approach to philanthropy. Collaborate closely with internal teams (Communications, Marketing, Government Affairs, Sustainability, Talent Acquisition, University Relations, Culture and Inclusion, Team Member Engagement) to ensure alignment and amplification of community work. Partner with SICE colleagues across Micron’s global sites, sharing methodologies, scaling successful programs, and supporting team‑wide priorities. Act as a liaison to specific ERGs, industry associations, and other internal teams as assigned. Impact Measurement & Learning Work with Communications and Impact Measurement leads to track, assess, and share the social impact of your portfolio. Document insights, lessons learned, and refine program quality and efficiency, using data and analysis to guide decisions and challenge assumptions. Minimum Qualifications 15+ years of professional experience, including 10+ years in social impact, community engagement, corporate philanthropy, or related fields. Proven success building and leading partnerships with nonprofit, multilateral, and philanthropic organizations to deliver programs for underserved populations. Experience managing grant portfolios end‑to‑end (sourcing, due diligence, contracting, and impact reporting). Strong global collaboration skills, excellent judgment, analytical thinking, and a growth mindset. High digital proficiency (including AI tools) and the ability to prioritize in fast‑paced environments. Strong communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Deep familiarity with Idaho and/or Mexico’s social impact and philanthropic landscape, and knowledge of corporate philanthropy guidelines and emerging trends. Experience crafting or supporting STEM education, workforce development, or job readiness programs. Solid understanding of social impact measurement, evaluation, and learning (MEL) frameworks or equivalent experience. Hands‑on experience with Benevity or similar corporate giving and employee volunteering platforms. Demonstrated ability to champion innovation, shared learning, and accountability across teams and partnerships.
