Nurse Practitioner - CT Surgery Step Down / CTICU

Compensation

Salary Range: $138,000 - $153,000 per year (up to $163,000 based on experience)

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Position Summary
As a Nurse Practitioner in the CT Surgery Step Down / CTICU unit, you will provide advanced clinical care to patients recovering from complex cardiothoracic procedures. Working within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, you will manage acute conditions, support post-operative care, and ensure optimal patient outcomes. This night shift role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity hospital environment with strong support and union benefits.

Responsibilities

? Schedule / Shift

• Shift details: Nights, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM (13 shifts per month)
• Hours per week: Full-Time equivalent

? Key Duties:

• Provide comprehensive care to CTICU and step-down patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning
• Manage post-operative cardiothoracic patients, ensuring appropriate monitoring and interventions
• Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
• Perform clinical procedures and interpret diagnostic results in a critical care setting
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure adherence to hospital policies and regulatory standards

Requirements

? Education

• Required: Completion of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program

? Licenses & Certifications

• Required:
• Active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure and registration
• ANCC or ANNP certification

? Skills:

• Strong clinical expertise in critical care, cardiothoracic, or ICU settings
• Excellent assessment and decision-making skills in high-acuity environments
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to manage complex patient cases and prioritize effectively
