Job Summary: A Fire Sprinkler Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, repairing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and optimal safety for occupants, with an emphasis on repairs and maintenance. You will work closely with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to address any issues and maintain the integrity of fire protection systems.Pay Range: $25- $38 / Hourly. The posted salary range reflects the anticipated hiring range for this position at the time of posting and is provided in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws. Actual starting pay will be determined based on job-related factors, including the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, education, internal equity, geographic location (where applicable), and market considerations. Not all candidates will be hired at the top of the posted range. The posted range reflects base salary only and does not include any applicable bonuses, commissions, overtime, or the value of employee benefits. Eligible employees may participate in the Company's benefit programs, subject to the terms and eligibility requirements of each plan.Sign-On Bonus: Qualified technicians will receive a $5,000.00 sign-on bonus paid in two installments: the first payment after successfully completing 30 days of employment, and the second payment after completing 90 days. This bonus rewards your commitment and excellent performance during your initial months with our company.Key Responsibilities:Conduct routine inspections and testing of wet, dry and pre-action systems fire sprinkler systems, to identify and address any issues or deficiencies, as per NFPA 25 requirementsPrepare detailed reports documenting inspection findings, test results, and any related deficiencies or non-compliance issues observed, in accordance with NFPA codes and standards.Test and evaluate system functionality of sprinkler heads, valves, piping, pumps, and control systems.Inspect piping, fittings, and connections for signs of corrosion, leaks, or damage, recommending necessary repairs or replacementsPerform maintenance tasks on fire sprinkler systems, such as replacing damaged or malfunctioning components, cleaning pipes and sprinkler heads, lubricating moving parts, and adjusting system settings to ensure optimal performanceInspect Fire pump assemblies, including testing flow rates, pressure levels, and mechanical integrityRespond promptly to service calls and emergency requests, diagnosing problems and implementing solutions to restore system functionality.Document all service activities accurately and thoroughly, including inspection reports, work orders, and parts usage, and customer notes, using the Service Trade operations platform.Work closely with Deficiency Sellers to provide detailed inspection reports, material needs, and other job-related notes, to prepare and deliver repair estimates in a timely mannerInteract professionally with clients to schedule work, discuss inspection findings, address any concerns or questions, and provide recommendations for system upgrades or improvementsWork closely with Service Coordinator(s) to optimize work orders, material requisitions, and job scheduling, focusing on efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.Maintain a clean and organized work environment, always adhering to safety guidelines, protocols, and procedures.What We Are Looking For:High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in fire alarm systems or related field preferred.Solid understanding of fire protection codes, standards, and regulations, including NFPA 13, NFPA 25 and relevant building and fire codes.Nicet II, preferredVA Backflow DPOR, preferred5+ years experience in the servicing, maintenance and repair of commercial fire sprinkler systems preferredNICET certifications strongly preferred.Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel to client sites as needed.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Physical Requirements:While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and is occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objectsAbility to lift and carry up to 50 poundsComfortable working in various environments, including industrial facilities, commercial buildings and outdoor settings, which can potentially expose employees to noise, dust, heat stress, thermal stress, low light conditions, heights, etc.Capable of standing, walking, bending and kneeling for extended periodsAbility to work at heights and in confined spaces as needed, which would require use of fall protection equipment and other safety devicesCapable of using hand and power tools, including specialty tools resulting in cutting, grinding, drilling, fastening and other methods resulting in torque, vibration, noise, etc.Hiller is a drug-free workplace, an equal opportunity employer and ADA compliant.We are proud to operate according to our Core Values: Passion to Perform, Trust to Act, Act Responsibly and Make It Fun.Most employee benefits start from the first day of employment, including:Competitive compensation package, including pay advancement opportunities for industry certifications and continuing educationComprehensive benefits package, including health, dental & vision insurance, retirement plans, company paid & voluntary life insurance, company paid short-term disability, voluntary long-term disability, critical illness & accident insurance and paid time offCompany-provided training, tools and equipment, including $150 annual boot allowance for employees required to wear safety boots in their jobsCareer advancement potential within a growing company.Join us in our mission to provide comprehensive fire protection solutions and peace of mind to our customers and together let's make the world a safer place.
