Description: Columbia Technology Partners is seeking a skilled Linux System Administrator to support enterprise infrastructure in a secure, high-performance environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with experience managing Linux systems, enterprise storage, and backup solutions while maintaining strong security and compliance standards. You will play a key role in ensuring system reliability, supporting vulnerability management efforts, and driving continuous improvements across infrastructure operations.Key Responsibilities: Administer, maintain, and optimize Linux-based systems in a production environmentManage IBM Enterprise Storage solutions to ensure availability, performance, and data integrityConfigure, monitor, and troubleshoot Veritas NetBackup for enterprise backup and recovery operationsPerform system patching and package management using YUM repositoriesExecute and remediate vulnerability scans using Nessus, ensuring alignment with security requirementsImplement and maintain system security configurations, including system hardening and policy enforcementSupport STE/STIN-related processes and security frameworksMonitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive improvementsCollaborate with engineering, security, and infrastructure teams to support upgrades, audits, and incident responseMaintain clear and accurate documentation for system configurations, procedures, and compliance activitiesQualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)3+ years of hands-on Linux system administration experience (RHEL, CentOS, or similar)Experience with enterprise storage (IBM), backup solutions (Veritas NetBackup), and vulnerability management tools (e.g., Nessus)Strong knowledge of Linux patching (YUM), system hardening, security best practices, and scripting (Bash, Python, or similar)Desired Qualifications:RHCSA or similar Linux certificationExperience in high-availability or mission-critical environmentsFamiliarity with automation tools such as Ansible or PuppetExposure to cloud or hybrid infrastructure environmentsRequirements: U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants.
