Field Marketing Specialist

About the role We're a technology consultancy working in cloud, data, and AI. We're hiring a Field Marketing Specialist to own our event calendar, run marketing campaigns that support it, and build our presence in markets across the United States. This is a hands-on, execution-first role. You won't be sitting in strategy meetings all day — you'll be booking venues, chasing RSVPs, writing follow-up emails, and standing at the booth. What you'll get in return is an unusual starting point for a marketing career: real fluency in how technology, data, and AI services get marketed and sold to enterprise buyers. That's a specialized and well-paid corner of the field, and most marketers don't reach it until years in. What you’ll do Event planning and execution Own our national event calendar end to end: industry conferences, executive roundtables, customer lunch-and-learns, webinars, and regional meetups in markets across the US. Handle all logistics — venue, catering, AV, booth space, shipping, signage, giveaways, badge scanning, staffing schedules, and run-of-show. Manage invitation and registration campaigns, RSVP tracking, reminder sequences, and post-event follow-up. Track event budgets against approved spend, reconcile invoices, and report cost-per-lead and cost-per-attendee. Travel to events nationally — roughly 25–35%, including overnight and multi-day trips. Campaign and marketing support Draft and schedule marketing emails, landing pages, and social posts supporting events and campaigns. Keep our CRM and marketing lists clean: import event leads, tag sources, and route qualified contacts to sales on a defined SLA. Maintain the marketing asset library — case studies, one-pagers, slides, and collateral. Pull monthly reporting on campaign and event performance. Partner and community marketing Coordinate co-marketing activity with our technology partners, including joint events, co-branded campaigns, and partner-funded marketing programs. Build relationships with tech, cloud, data, and AI communities in our key markets — user groups, meetups, chambers of commerce, and industry associations. Identify sponsorship and speaking opportunities and coordinate our participation. Support our leaders and engineers in preparing to speak, sponsor, or exhibit. What we’re looking for Required Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience. 0–2 years of marketing, events, or coordination experience. Internships, campus organizations, agency work, and hospitality or event experience all count. Genuinely strong organizational skills. This role runs many small deadlines at once, and dropped details are visible to customers. Clear, professional written and verbal communication — you'll be emailing customers, vendors, and partners directly. Comfortable with spreadsheets, calendars, and standard business software; able to pick up new tools quickly. Based in or willing to relocate to the Fort Mill, SC area, with a valid driver's license and the ability to travel regularly across the US, including evening events and overnight stays. Nice to have — not required, we will teach you these Familiarity with cloud services, data platforms, or AI/ML concepts. Experience with a CRM or marketing automation platform (HubSpot, Salesforce, Marketo, Mailchimp). Basic design skills in Canva, Figma, or the Adobe suite. Experience coordinating events, trade shows, or conferences. Who does well here You follow up without being reminded. You're comfortable being the youngest person in a room full of executives and engineers. You can run an event in an unfamiliar city without needing someone on site with you. You'd rather ask a question early than guess and redo the work.
