We have a Laboratory Technician position open, and this position will be located at the Waynesboro, MS Facility.The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for receiving, labeling, and storing samples, performing analytical tests, recording and reporting results, and ensuring product quality meets required specifications. Additionally, the role requires maintaining accurate records and troubleshooting equipment.Essential Functions:Preparing and conducting chemical experiments by using various lab equipmentEnsuring compliance with safety procedures and regulations when handling chemicals and substancesMonitor product quality to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.Receiving, labeling and safely storing samples to be tested.Determining and performing tests needed for analysis and report.Recording tests and analysis and then reporting results.Organizing and storing samples in accordance with all safety and other requirements to ensure sample safety and integrity.Cleaning, maintaining, and troubleshooting lab equipment, including recalibration of equipment to ensure continuous operationCollect and analyze data from experiments and record findings in order to maintain equipment records and daily work logs.Staying current on technical and scientific advances in perspective fieldPosition Requirements:Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.Ability to perform simple math functions; adding, subtraction, and division, percentages, and decimalsAbility to read and interpret instructions on various testing proceduresMust be able to attend orientation and training on 1st shift before transitioning to 2nd shiftAbility and willingness to work shift work, overtime, and weekend hours if neededProficient in English language with reading, writing and speakingMust have the ability to work in a team or unsupervised environment while maintaining accountability.Must be an effective communicator both verbally and writtenMust have the ability to provide attention to detail and accuracyUnderstand the importance time management so that the job is performed in a timely mannerUnderstand and adhere to the Sipcam Agro Solutions safety proceduresHave a basic understanding of using a computer and softwareWear the required PPE throughout your shiftQualifications:High School diploma or GEDAssociate degree in chemistry or science (preferred)Prior lab experience (preferred)One year of related work experience in manufacturing (preferred)Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job the employee will be required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms, as well as lift up to 50 lbs.The work is typically performed in a controlled environment. However, the employee will be asked to work in all types of temperatures and conditions.
