Staff Pharmacist (Part-time)
Pharmacist Job Summary
We are looking for a pharmacist with a passion for helping others improve their health or manage their chronic illnesses. As a pharmacist, you will review prescriptions, check patient files for possible drug interactions, dispense prescribed medication, and answer patient questions about prescribed and over-the-counter medications and their use. When necessary, you will also collaborate and advise health practitioners on drug dosage and selection. Our ideal candidate has at least two years of retail pharmacy experience.
Pharmacist Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Dispense drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners.
- Check for order accuracy on medicine type, dosage, and correct packaging/ labels on all new and refill orders.
- Ordering medication, as we are an independent pharmacy choosing the right supplier for the right medication becomes very important.
- Follow all applicable local, state, and federal health law (FDA and DEA regulations, HIPAA guidelines).
- Administer immunizations
- Check drug stock frequently and ensure drugs are up to date, removing any damaged or expired items
- Manage pharmacy staff and technicians direct them and also help when they are in need.
Pharmacist Job Requirements and Qualifications * Current and valid licensed pharmacist to practice in Florida
- 2+ years of independent pharmacy experience
- Current BLS or ACLS certificate
- Knowledgable in DEA and FDA health regulations
- Attention to detail and accuracy
