Echocardiac Technologist
Job Summary
Uses ultrasound equipment to perform heart tests on patients.
General Accountabilities
Uses specialized equipment to produce heart readings, or echocardiograms (ECGs).
Examines heart valves, chambers, and blood vessels.
Takes medical histories and explains the procedure.
Positions the patient and attaches electrodes to the patient's torso.
Monitors instruments that produce readings of the heart.
Provides the test results to cardiologists or prescribing physicians for interpretation.

Job Qualifications
Education: Associate's degree
Experience: 1-2 years of related experience
Certification: Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) credential and Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) designation
