Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, administering intensive respiratory care and facilitating patient transport within the facility as medically prescribed. This role involves evaluating patients and recommending treatment plans while providing explanations of procedures, tests, and equipment to patients, along with necessary education upon discharge. Responsibilities include conducting physician-prescribed treatments, managing various ventilatory equipment, and executing routine procedures to ensure effective patient care.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend treatment plans.
• Explain treatment purposes and procedures to patients and families.
• Operate and maintain various ventilatory and oxygen devices.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning by various methods.
• Conduct oximetry and capnography monitoring.
• Review patient's chest x-rays and perform pulmonary function studies.
• Assist with respiratory-related procedures such as Bronchoscopy and Chest Tube placement.
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation following BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Document treatment processes and patient responses accurately.
• Communicate with healthcare providers regarding therapy efficiency.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Respiratory Therapist license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
