SUMMARY

The Production Supervisor leads team members in one of our production departments to fulfill the mission by achieving production goals and driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, on-time delivery, and teamwork.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Works on-site in our Hastings, Michigan plant.
2. Leads, monitors, and performs day-to-day production tasks in the unit.
3. Ensures team members are trained to perform job tasks safely and correctly.
4. Enforces a safe work environment in accordance with Company standards.
5. Enters relevant data in ERP system in an accurate and timely manner.
6. Communicates Company news to hourly team members.
7. Prioritizes and assigns work to meet production requirements.
8. Tracks and analyzes production values and implements actions to improve department performance.
9. Conducts regular competence and awareness evaluations of department employees.
10. Identifies opportunities for team members to improve; implements performance improvement plans accordingly.
11. Monitors department timekeeping, including requests for time off.
12. Participates in supervisory meetings, projects, and committees
13. Participates in interviews and provides input on job applicants
14. Appropriately identifies and elevates issues affecting production or people (i.e., to plant manager, human resources, etc.).
15. Complies with and adheres to all applicable ISO standards, safety, and work rules and requirements.
16. Performs other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Work primarily in non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment
• Use of appropriate personal protective equipment
• Use of computer
• Near vision (ability to see details at close range)
• Fine motor skills
• Written and oral comprehension and expression
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
• Ability to load and operate powered industrial trucks, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
• Ability and willingness to routinely work 46+ hours per week.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS

• At least five (5) years of manufacturing experience required
• Proven ability to work well with all levels of the organization
• Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to effectively train others
• Knowledge to enable use of computer programs including ERP software and Microsoft Office
