A Clinical Dietitian II develops and delivers medical nutrition therapy to patients based on patient needs and standard processes. Assesses nutritional status, determines nutritional requirements, and sets appropriate goals according to established standards. Institutes appropriate type of nutrition support, evaluates outcome of medical nutritional therapy. Adjusts medical nutrition therapy by recommending and initiates appropriate changes in delivery of nutrients to achieve established outcomes. Provides appropriate nutrition intervention and education/ instruction to patients/ families. Clinical Dietitian II - Inpatient/Outpatient Leukemia Services: Provides comprehensive medical nutrition therapy to pediatric patients in the inpatient and outpatient Leukemia services, including nutrition assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring, and education. Collaborates with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement evidence-based nutrition care plans that promote optimal patient outcomes. Participates in quality improvement initiatives and monitors quality measures to advance clinical nutrition practice, enhance patient care, and support departmental and organizational goals. Eventually, able to provide cross-coverage for additional inpatient and outpatient clinical services as needed to support departmental operations. Participate in nutrition research and/ or projects. Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure integrated care. Serve as a nutrition resource, educator, and consultant for patient’s health care professionals, students, and the community. Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution. Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Minimum Education and/or Training: Master's degree in nutrition or a related field including an ACEND-approved dietetic internship required. Minimum Experience: Minimum Experience: 3+ years of experience in clinical dietetics required. Clinical experience in an pediatrics/hospital setting preferred. Proven performance in earlier/ comparable role. Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by Law: Dietitian/Nutritionist License (LDN-TN) by State of Tennessee Division of Health-Related Boards required. Registered as a Dietitian/Nutritionist (LC: CDRAND-RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics required. Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by SJCRH Only: Certification in Nutrition Support by the American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition preferred. Board Certification as a Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics preferred. Board Certification as a Specialist in Oncology Nutrition by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics preferred. International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners preferred. Certified Clinical Research Associate by the Society of Clinical Research Associates preferred. Effectively guides execution of related nutrition plans by technicians in line with patient needs, and monitors progress against plan. Provides ongoing counsel to patients around nutrition therapy approaches, expected outcomes, and progress. Promptly and effectively responds to patient queries and requests. Explores optimal solutions for patient needs with a focus on seamless hand-offs with other patient care teams. Escalates/ redirects effectively for quicker patient support with a focus on overall patient priorities. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
